Credits 3.0
Academic Level
Undergraduate

This course focuses on the principles of soil mechanics and their applications in civil engineering. Topics include soil structure and classification, permeability, soil strength, consolidation, stress analysis, slope stability, lateral earth pressures, and bearing capacity. Emphasis is placed on understanding the behavior of soils and applying fundamental concepts to the design and analysis of geotechnical systems. Pre-requisite: ES212 Solid Mechanics; Co-requisite: CE330L Geotechnical Engineering Lab
