Advanced application, concepts and uses of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for complex conservation and land management problems. ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, R/RStudio, and other software will be used to conduct quantitative spatial analyses including GIS modeling, spatial decision making, and other statistical analyses. Lecture will include in-depth primary literature paper assignments in landscape ecology and conservation as well as practical exercises to develop skills in diverse programs. Students will develop spatial analysis projects using citizen science data, or other data sources Prerequisite: Successful completion (C- or better) of CBIO 421. Spring odd years.
