Mission Statement
The Department of Biology & Chemistry at Lincoln Memorial University prepares students for professional success and advanced study through rigorous, inquiry‑driven programs in the life and physical sciences. Across all degree tracks, the department emphasizes mastery of scientific content, ethical practice, clear communication, and the development of practical skills through laboratory experiences, and faculty‑mentored research. Courses in the department foster quantitative reasoning, technological proficiency, and critical and analytical thinking that support student readiness for science‑focused careers and graduate or professional education. Each major integrates discipline‑specific competencies while upholding shared departmental values in scientific integrity, evidence‑based inquiry, and the responsible application of science.
