ME-210: ME Materials

Credits 3
Academic Level
Undergraduate

Study of the structure, properties, processing, and performance of engineering materials. Materials covered include metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Emphasis is placed on mechanical behavior, while electrical, thermal, and environmental characteristics are also considered. Atomic bonding, crystal structure, defects, phase transformations, and microstructure are examined to explain material behavior and support material selection in mechanical engineering applications.
