Analysis and design of mechanisms and machinery used in mechanical systems. Topics include kinematic analysis and synthesis of linkages, cams, and gear trains; velocity and acceleration analysis; static and dynamic force analysis; balancing of rotating and reciprocating systems; and introductory vibration considerations in machinery. Emphasis is placed on modeling, analysis, and design of machine motion and force transmission.
