Study of heat transfer by conduction, convection, and radiation in engineering systems. Topics include steady and transient heat conduction in one and multiple dimensions, analytical and numerical methods, development and application of convective heat transfer correlations from thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, radiation exchange, and heat exchanger analysis. Emphasis is placed on modeling, analysis, and design of thermal systems relevant to mechanical engineering.
