ME-410: Mechanical Component Design

Credits 3
Academic Level
Undergraduate

Application of mechanics, materials, and design principles to the design of machine components and assemblies. Topics may include stress and failure theories, fatigue, shafts, bearings, springs, fasteners, gears, and selected vibration considerations. Emphasis is placed on the iterative engineering design process, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and selection of components to meet performance requirements.
