This course provides undergraduate English students with hands-on professional experience with a supervised internship. Students will apply English principles and practices in professional writing, legal writing, grant writing, library and information sciences, research, and curriculum development to real-world scenarios, enhancing their technical skills, professional knowledge, and understanding of English outside of teaching.
Each credit hour earned requires 60 hours of logged, on-duty work. The student must submit a written report or journal at the conclusion of the internship. The internship is monitored and evaluated by a faculty sponsor, in verification and close consultation with the supervising representative of the organization/business/agency. Lincoln Memorial University retains ultimate control and supervision of the internship. Departmental approval required. As needed.
