This course provides undergraduate accounting students with hands-on professional experience through a supervised internship in a government, industry, or nonprofit organization. Students will apply accounting principles and practices to real-world scenarios, enhancing their technical skills, professional knowledge, and understanding of organizational operations.
The internship allows students to explore career paths, develop problem-solving abilities, and build a network of professional contacts. The internship is monitored and evaluated by a faculty sponsor, in verification and close consultation with the supervising representative of the business/agency. LMU retains ultimate control and supervision of the internship. It may be repeated to a total of 9 credit hours applicable to program and/or degree requirements. Prerequisite: approval of instructor.
