Students will gain an understanding of a life sciences topic through the critical analysis of a topic via a meta-analysis research proposal focusing on primary literature papers. Class meetings discuss scientific literature access and the development and writing of a meta-analysis proposal containing sections appropriate for a professional scientific grant or prospectus including research statement and hypothesis, methods, and anticipated results. Students present their proposal as a written paper and a poster presentation as part of the university SEWS requirement. Pre- or Co-requisite: BIOL 290. Co-requisite: BIOL 387X. Fall, Spring.
