VMT-105: Veterinary Medical Terminology

This course provides veterinary technology students with a comprehensive introduction to medical terminology used in the veterinary field. Students will learn the foundations of word structure, including prefixes, suffixes, root words, and combining forms, enabling them to accurately interpret and utilize veterinary medical language. Emphasis will be placed on terminology relevant to anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnostics, treatments, and clinical procedures for a variety of animal species. Through practical exercises and real-world examples, students will develop the skills necessary to communicate effectively within veterinary teams and with clients. Prerequisite: Admission to the VMT program.
