Bachelor of Business Admin.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Pre Law (3+3, Early Entry to Duncan School of Law)

The Pre-Law concentration provides an accelerated combined degree completion pathway that integrates undergraduate business education with legal training through a three-plus-three structure in partnership with the LMU Duncan School of Law. Rather than completing a traditional set of undergraduate concentration courses, students fulfill the Pre-Law concentration through the successful completion of their first year of law school. This approach allows students to apply foundational business knowledge within a rigorous legal education environment while progressing efficiently toward both degrees.

Students complete three years of undergraduate coursework, including the BBA Core, all general education requirements, and all other LMU Bachelor of Business Administration requirements, before transitioning into their first year of law school. Upon successful completion of the first year of law school, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Pre-Law (PLAW.BBA). Coursework completed during the first year of law school serves as the BBA Pre-Law concentration.

To participate in the BBA to JD combined degree completion pathway, students must complete the application for the BBA to JD pathway. Once accepted into the pathway, students must meet or exceed the median LSAT score and undergraduate GPA of the previous year’s entering law class and complete all required application materials and documentation for admission to the LMU Duncan School of Law.

The maximum amount of double-counted credit hours for the BBA to JD 3+3 pathway is 31 credit hours. LMU limits eligibility for this pathway to exceptional students who meet the enrollment criteria. Students are still required to meet the student learning outcomes (SLOs) for each program, so the quality and integrity of neither program is jeopardized.

Graduates of this concentration will have completed foundational business training alongside the first year of a Doctor of Jurisprudence program, positioning them to continue their legal education and pursue careers in legal practice, corporate law, compliance, consulting, and other roles requiring an understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of business.
