Required Courses
ASCE Requirement
Per ABET program criteria established by ASCE, all graduates must take a COSC, BIOL, or GEOG course.
*The GEOG course will fulfill both the Beh/SS elective and the ASCE requirement.
Engineering Professional Development (EPD) Requirement
The EPD requirement relates to the school's mission to develop job-ready engineers who prioritize the welfare of society. Fulfillment of the EPD is at the discretion of the Dean, Chair, or Program Director, and includes but is not limited to a professional enrichment activity, internship, or co-op. To fulfill this requirement, every student must submit a written report summarizing how their experience better prepares them for a career in engineering.
Program Policies
- Any transfer student entering the School of Engineering may be exempt from taking ENGR 100 - Engineering Portal if the student has taken engineering courses at another institution. The exemption decision is at the discretion of the Dean.
- Students entering the School of Engineering may be exempt from taking ENGR104 Math Application to Engineering if the student has earned credit for MATH 150 Calculus I. The exemption decision is at the discretion of the Dean.
- The School of Engineering follows the grading policy set forth in the course catalog. A passing grade will include letter grades A through D-. A failing grade is recognized with the letter grade, F.
